The Run for Wildlife - Banham Zoo is a 5k race held at Banham Zoo in the UK. The course passes through scenic parkland and includes a lap around the zoo. Runners pass enclosures for kangaroos, emus, giraffes, maned wolves, vultures, llamas, gelada baboons, penguins, lemurs and meerkats. The course is described as mostly flat. Race entry includes full-day entry to Banham Zoo on race day and a finisher medal. Fundraising is supported via a GoFundMe page and there is a prize for the top fundraiser.
Entry, logistics and conduct
Standard entry is £17.50 per person; a flash sale price of £13.60 is also listed. Spectator prices are: adults £10, children £5, under 2s free. The event has a maximum capacity of 1000 runners. Minimum age is 6 years; under 11s must be accompanied by an adult. Buggy runners and babies in slings are not permitted. Free parking, on-the-day race number collection, a bag drop and post-race water stations are provided. Hot food and drinks are available to purchase. Entries are non-refundable and cannot be deferred; transfers to another runner are permitted until midnight the night before the race. The event has a Code of Conduct; allegations of unacceptable behaviour will be investigated and may result in sanctions, with progress on investigations advised within 28 days.
