Run for Wildlife - Banham Zoo 5k
Run for Wildlife - Banham Zoo 5k is a 5 km event held at Banham Zoo. The route runs through scenic parkland and includes a lap around the zoo, allowing participants to pass enclosures and viewing areas during the course.
Participants run alongside or by a variety of species, including kangaroos, emus, giraffes, maned wolves, vultures, llamas, gelada baboons, penguins, lemurs and meerkats. Some species may be off-show on the day to protect animal welfare.
Race entry includes full-day entry to Banham Zoo on race day, a finisher medal, discounted zoo tickets for friends and family, access to the Race Day Village, and eligibility for fundraising prizes including a reward for the top fundraiser. The event supports conservation and animal welfare through organised fundraising.
Event details include an entry fee of £17.50, a maximum capacity of 1000 runners, and a minimum age of 6 years (under 11s must be accompanied by an adult). Buggy runners and babies in slings are not permitted. Practical arrangements include free parking, on-the-day race number collection, a bag drop, post-race water stations and food and drink available to purchase. Official race T-shirts are sold separately. Entries are non-refundable and cannot be deferred; transfers to another runner are available until midnight the night before the race.
The event operates under a Code of Conduct titled We Run With Respect. Expected behaviour includes consideration and support for others; unacceptable conduct includes intimidating, harassing or discriminatory behaviour.
