Run and Walk for Solas 2026
Run and Walk for Solas is a two-day fundraising event taking place in Waterford City and Dungarvan in October 2026, marking key anniversaries for the Solas Cancer Support Centre: 25 years of service, 15 years since the Williamstown Centre opened, and 10 years of the Dungarvan Centre.
The event offers the following options:
- 10K run and walk in Waterford City (Quay) and in Dungarvan (Walton Park)
- 4K walk in both Waterford and Dungarvan
- virtual participation option and workplace involvement promoted with the Go Orange For Solas theme
Registration fees are €25 per adult and €15 per child; the fee includes a t-shirt and an event medal sponsored by Eirgen Pharma. The event is a principal annual fundraiser for the centre; previous editions raised €230,000 and funds help cover the centre's operating costs, projected to exceed €1.2 million in 2026.
The event lists local partners and supporters, including a hospital partner and a media partner, and references the centre’s recent activity: 1,433 clients supported in 2025 and over 9,000 one-to-one support sessions delivered that year.
