Ruck 4 Freedom
Ruck 4 Freedom is an honorary ruck where community members and service personnel come together to show gratitude for Active Duty military, veterans, and first responders. The event is based on a military tradition and gives participants the option to wear a weighted backpack while they walk.
Participants may choose between ruck, run, or walk formats at two standard distances:
- 5K
- 10K
Those who choose the ruck option carry a weighted backpack for the 5K or 10K Ruck Walk. Participants who prefer not to wear a ruck may register to run or walk the same distances. The event also features ruck patches that are never sold and are considered earned.
The event is scheduled for February 27, 2027 at Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek, Arizona. Organizers list an attendance goal of 1000 participants. All ages and pets are welcomed. Packet pick up is scheduled for February 26 with the location to be announced.
Ruck 4 Freedom includes opportunities for sponsorship and nonprofit nominations. Sponsors at the Liberty level and above are guaranteed exclusivity within their industry category. Organizers also offer a Sponsor a Hero option for a specified donation amount and accept nominations to support charities that benefit veterans and first responders.
