Roy Flores Scholarship Fund 5K Run & Walk
The event is a free community 5K run and walk held at North Seattle College. It is organized to gather the community and to honor the life and work of Roy Flores while raising awareness for the Roy Flores Memorial Scholarship Fund, which supports North Seattle College students who show determination, leadership, and commitment to community.
Participation requires registration and bib pick-up. Official bibs are provided only to the first 200 registrants; later sign-ups may run or walk the course but will not receive an official bib. Only the first 50 finishers receive a medal. There is no registration fee.
Bib pick-up takes place from 6/9 to 6/13 at the Roy Flores Wellness Center, 9600 College Way N, Seattle WA 98105. A signed waiver is required for every person on the course, including children; office staff will provide a wristband to verify a signed waiver. A photo release form will be available for those who agree to event promotion use.
Post-race activities include an awards ceremony, a celebration fair with tabling by North Seattle College programs and local businesses, food truck service, a photo booth, outdoor games, and fundraising efforts for the scholarship fund.
