Route 66 UltraRun - November 14, 2026
The Route 66 UltraRun is the 5th annual ultramarathon held along sections of Historic Route 66 in Arizona and is a Certified Route 66 Centennial Event. The 2026 program includes commemorative items created for the centennial and other artist-made memorabilia.
Distances offered:
- 140-mile race from Seligman to Topock66, 60 hours allowed.
- 100-mile CenturyRun from Peach Springs to Topock66, 48 hours allowed.
Both courses pass through expansive valleys, pinon pine forests, rugged mountains, desert landscapes, and marshes, and travel past sites of Americana. The event acknowledges historical events tied to the route, including the 1928 Bunion Derby, Oakie’s migration during the Dust Bowl, and later changes in travel patterns and preservation efforts.
There are options for Crewed Runners and Relay Teams. Crewed Runners must complete all miles on foot and may use crew and pacers; crews must include at least two and no more than four people for the 140-mile race, and a maximum of two for the CenturyRun. Relay Teams may include three to six members for the 140-mile distance and three, four, or five members for the CenturyRun. Teams set their own leg lengths and transition timing during the race. There are no intermediate cutoffs along the courses.
Finishers who cross the line receive a colored enamel finisher medal and a unique finisher shirt featuring an original centennial art piece. Registration closes Oct 1, 2026 (MT). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
