Event Details
The Route 66 UltraRun is the 5th annual event, also a Certified Route 66 Centennial Event in 2026. It features races along Historic Route 66 in Arizona.
Race Distances and Format
The event offers two main race distances:
- 140-mile race: From Seligman to Topock66.
- 100-mile CenturyRun: From Peach Springs to Topock66.
Participants can enter in several categories:
- Crewed Runner: An individual who completes the full distance on foot with crew/pacer support. The 140-mile race allows 2-4 crew/pacers, while the 100-mile race allows a maximum of 2. With prior approval, two runners may share a single crew.
- Relay Team: Teams for the 140-mile race can have 3-6 people. Teams for the 100-mile race can have 3, 4, or 5 people. Teams decide their own leg lengths and transition strategy during the race.
- Journey Runner: Another category for the 140-mile distance.
Course and Time Limits
The courses pass through expansive valleys, pinon pine forests, rugged mountains, desert landscapes, and marshes. The time limit for the 140-mile race is 60 hours. The time limit for the 100-mile race is 48 hours. There are no intermediate cutoffs.
Finisher Items
Crewed Runners, Relay Team members, and Journey Runners who finish receive a finisher's medal and a unique finisher's shirt featuring original art for the centennial. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
