Route 66 UltraRun - November 14, 2026

The Route 66 UltraRun is the fifth annual running event held as a Certified Route 66 Centennial Event in 2026. The event restores and commemorates historic sections of Route 66 and notes the centennial of the Mother Road.

Distances offered:

  • 140 miles
  • 100 miles

The original 140 mile course runs from Seligman to Topock66. The new 100 mile CenturyRun runs from Peach Springs to Topock66. Both routes pass through valleys, pinon pine forests, rugged mountains, desert landscapes, marshes, and sites of Americana related to the road's history.

Time limits are set at 60 hours for the 140 mile race and 48 hours for the CenturyRun. There are no intermediate cutoffs listed.

Entry options include crewed solo runners and relay teams. Crewed runners must cover all miles on foot with support from crew or pacers; crew minimums and maximums differ by distance: at least two and no more than four crew for the 140 mile race, and a maximum of two crew for the CenturyRun. With prior approval two crewed runners may share a crew if they remain together. Relay teams run in divisions by distance; team sizes vary by race and teams choose their own leg lengths and transition plans.

Finishers who cross the line as Crewed Runners, Relay Team members, or Journey Runners receive commemorative enamel finishers medals and a unique finisher shirt created for the centennial. Registration closes October 1. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
