Rotary Huron Shore Run
The Rotary Huron Shore Run takes place along the shoreline of Lake Huron. The event features fast out-and-back courses that provide views of the coast. The routes follow a simple layout where participants run along Huron Street to a designated turnaround point before heading back to the finish.
The event offers a variety of distances for participants:
- 15 km: A new distance for 2026 featuring a flat and fast coastal route.
- 10 km: A standard road race distance.
- 5 km: Available for both runners and walkers.
- Kids Fun Run: A dedicated event for younger participants.
Sustainability is a key component of the race through the Green Bib Program. Adult participants can choose a Regular Bib, which includes a race shirt and finisher medal, or a Green Bib. Those selecting the Green Bib forgo the shirt and medal in exchange for a 10 dollar donation to a sustainability project in the Town of Saugeen Shores. Regardless of the bib choice, all athletes receive chip timing, on-course support, and post-race refreshments.
The run serves as a community fundraiser, supporting organizations such as the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, Bernie’s Boat, and the Saugeen Shores Special Olympics. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
