Event Overview
The Rose City Triathlon is a regional sports event held at The Boulders at Lake Tyler in Whitehouse, Texas. This competition is organized through a partnership between the CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System and the East Texas Triathletes. The event focuses on a sprint distance format and takes place in a setting known for its views of Lake Tyler.
Race Format and Distances
The competition follows USA Triathlon (USAT) sprint regulations. Participants can enter as individuals or as part of a relay team consisting of two or three people. The event consists of three consecutive disciplines:
- 650 meter swim
- 13 mile bike ride
- 5k run
The course is designed around the perimeter of Lake Tyler. The event has previously been recognized within the South Midwest region of the USA Triathlon Association, receiving votes in categories for small and medium-sized triathlons, and has served as a championship venue in past years.
