Rose Canyon Ultra
Rose Canyon Ultra is a trail race on June 6, 2026 in Herriman, Utah, with start and finish at the Butterfield Canyon Trailhead Regional Park. The course uses trails in the Rose, Butterfield, and Yellow Fork Canyon areas and includes single track, dirt road, and fire road sections.
Distances:
- 50 Miler 49.8 miles, +10,737 ft elevation
- 50k 29.4 miles, +5,273 ft elevation
- 30k 18.8 miles, +3,250 ft elevation
The route combines long ridge sections, steep rocky climbs and descents, stream crossings that may require rock or log crossings, and shaded single track in canyon sections. Surface breakdowns differ by distance; for example the 50 Miler is roughly 64% dirt trail, 14% fire road, and 22% dirt road. Cutoff paces are applied to each distance for safety.
Aid stations provide Tailwind (caffeinated and noncaffeinated), water, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, cola and ginger ale, and a variety of snack items. Parking is provided on native grass event areas. Packet pickup is available the day before at the Sandy Salt Lake Running Store and race day pickup is available at the trailhead.
Pacers are permitted only for the 50 Miler beginning at the Yellow Fork Aid Station. One drop bag is allowed at designated aid stations; drop bags must be brought to the race start. Runners receive a race shirt, a locally made finisher medal, free race photos, and live results. The organizer caps entries to 300 or fewer participants.
