Event overview
The Rose Canyon Ultra is set for June 6, 2026, in Herriman, Utah, with the start and finish at Butterfield Trailhead Regional Park. The event offers three distances:
- 50 Mile
- 50k
- 30k
Entry fees vary by registration period. Late registration opens May 6 and closes June 5 at 11:59 PM. Same-day registration is not available. Packet pickup is available the day before at the Salt Lake Running Company in Sandy and there is race-day bib pickup.
Courses, support, and rules
Course details and totals: the 50 Mile is 49.8 miles with +10,737 ft elevation gain and is 64% dirt trail, 14% fire road, 22% dirt road. The 50k is 29.4 miles with +5,273 ft. The 30k is 18.8 miles with +3,250 ft. Aid stations provide Tailwind (caffeinated and non), water, gels/waffles, fruit, soda, and assorted snacks. Free parking is provided at the event in a native grass area.
Cutoffs for runner safety: 50 Mile follows a 20-minute mile cutoff, 50k follows a 21 minute 30 second mile cutoff, and 30k follows a 30-minute mile cutoff. Pacers are allowed only in the 50 Mile beginning at the Yellow Fork Aid Station. One drop bag is permitted at Yellow Fork for all distances; 50 Mile runners may also use one drop bag at Butterfield Peak Trailhead at specified miles. Photos and live results are provided.
