Rocky Mountain Half Marathon & 5K : Estes Park, CO
The event takes place in Estes Park, Colorado, near Rocky Mountain National Park with courses that loop around Lake Estes and use nearby town streets and park roads. The half marathon follows a counterclockwise path around the lake, includes an out-and-back on Mall Road, crosses under Big Thompson Avenue, climbs Dry Gulch for about three miles, then descends through Devil’s Gulch before returning via MacGregor Avenue, Wonderview, and Steamer Parkway to finish with a final loop around the lake. The half marathon is a paved road loop with aid stations on course.
Expo and bib pickup are held at Stanley Park Ball Field in Estes Park on the Friday before race day; shipped bib pickup is available for a fee. There are three designated event parking areas near the fairgrounds and park that are a short walk to start and finish. The event uses cup-free, self-serve aid stations; runners may bring a personal hydration system or a lightweight reusable cup.
Awards include place medals for top finishers in overall and Masters categories, age-group place medals for top five in each listed group, and finisher medals for all finishers.
