Rocky Mountain Half Marathon & 5K : Estes Park, CO
The Rocky Mountain event offers a paved loop course that begins and ends by the lake at the fairgrounds in historic Estes Park, Colorado. The weekend includes a half marathon and a 5K, plus an Elk Double option that combines both events using a single bib and awards separate finisher medals and an additional Elk Double medal.
The half marathon route runs counterclockwise around Lake Estes, includes a short out-and-back on Mall Road, then crosses under Big Thompson Avenue before a steady climb up Dry Gulch for about three miles. Runners descend through Devil's Gulch onto flatter sections along MacGregor Avenue and a winding stretch through Wonderview and Steamer Parkway, then return through the Big Thompson tunnel and finish with a loop around Lake Estes. The 5K follows a counterclockwise loop around the lake with an initial climb and a mostly flat remainder.
Course services and event logistics include multiple on-course aid stations for the half marathon and a single aid station for the 5K, a packet pickup expo at Stanley Park Ball Field in Estes Park, designated parking areas near the fairgrounds, and a cup free system with self serve water and electrolyte stations. All finishers receive a finisher medal and place medals are awarded across overall and age group categories; non-binary age group awards are not offered.
