Rocky Mountain Half Marathon and 5K - Estes Park, Colorado
The Rocky Mountain event takes place in Estes Park near Rocky Mountain National Park and uses paved loop courses that pass around Lake Estes and the fairgrounds. The half marathon route runs counterclockwise around the lake, includes an out-and-back on Mall Road, a steady climb up Dry Gulch for about three miles, rolling downhill on Devil’s Gulch, a flat section on MacGregor Avenue, and winding streets through Wonderview and Steamer Parkway before returning to the lake area. Elevation is listed at approximately +780 ft and -775 ft for the half marathon.
The weekend includes an expo at Stanley Park Ball Field with bib pickup options, several designated parking areas near the fairgrounds, and a runner drop-off zone accessed from Manford Avenue. Aid stations are provided on course: five for the half marathon and one for the 5K. The event follows a cup-free, zero waste approach with self-serve aid stations and encourages reusable cups or personal hydration systems.
Additional event features include place medals for top finishers in overall and Masters categories, age-group place medals, finisher medals for all finishers, FinisherPix photos after the race, an Elk Double option combining the 5K and half marathon with extra swag, and wheelchair and stroller accessibility.
