The location is the Long Beach beach path near 54th Place and Ocean Boulevard (5400 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA). Parking is free in the nearby residential area; the beach parking lot uses a paid ticket machine.
Course and race details
The event uses an open course on the beach path with marked out-and-back loops. The 10k is two 5k loops, the 15k is three 5k loops, and the half marathon is three 4.36-mile loops. An aid station at the turnaround/start/finish supplies water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels. Participants are asked to be courteous to pedestrians, runners, and cyclists on the path.
Registration is available through PayPal or Active.com (participants should use one method only). After PayPal registration, the organizer sends an email within 12 hours to finalize registration. Transfers are allowed by email request; there is a no-refund policy. The half marathon has a 3 hour 15 minute time limit; requests for additional time are handled by email. Registration includes custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, free photos and videos, posted results, and assorted snacks.
