Rockcut Ultra, Halfcut and Shortcut
The event takes place in Twillingate, NL, on the Rockcut Twillingate Trails at the edge of the North Atlantic. Terrain varies between coastal single-track, forested sections, bogs and roads through outport communities on Twillingate Island.
Three race distances are offered:
- 50K Rockcut Ultra: 50 kilometres on the Rockcut trails.
- 23K Halfcut: 23 kilometres on coastal single-track.
- 9K Shortcut: 9 kilometre loop.
The 9K loop starts in Snellins Cove, proceeds to Back Harbour, goes up and around Batrix Island, passes through Spencer's Park, returns via Back Harbour to Smith's Lookout with the ascent to the Cross, then descends back to Snellins Cove. The 23K route loops Twillingate's North Island and emphasizes coastal single-track sections. The 50K covers a mix of coastal single-track, forested areas, bogs and local roads that pass scenic outport communities.
