River to Ridge Off-road Triathlon
The River to Ridge Off-road Triathlon is held within Shenandoah River State Park near Bentonville, VA. The course uses the park's natural geography and combines three distinct disciplines in sequence: paddling on the South Fork of the Shenandoah, a riverside trail run, and single-track mountain biking through the ridge canopy during peak fall foliage.
Total distance is about 15.5 miles and the route is organized to follow the water and then climb into forested trails. The paddle section moves with the river current, the run follows the trail between water and forest, and the bike section uses mountain single-track.
Included for participants are kayak, PFD, and paddle rental with required use of provided boats, a finisher medal, a race T-shirt, and post-race pizza. The event takes place at Shenandoah River State Park, 884 Indian Hollow Road, Bentonville, VA 22610. Registration information and fees are set in advance; the published registration fee is $120.00.
