Event Overview
The River City Half Marathon takes place on a Sunday in October in Columbus, Georgia. It is a point-to-point race starting at Lake Oliver Marina and finishing at Oxbow Meadows, just outside of Fort Benning. The event is presented by DexaFit Columbus.
Course Details
The course is described as fast, with approximately 350 feet of incline and over 500 feet of decline. The route runs alongside the Chattahoochee River, passing over the North Highlands Dam and through historic Downtown Columbus before finishing at Oxbow Meadows.
Participant Information
All participants will receive a hoodie or a Revolution Running shirt. Finishers receive a medal. Packet pickup is available at DexaFit Columbus on the Friday and Saturday before the race, and at the start line on race morning. The race is point-to-point, with a shuttle bus service available from the finish to the start. Buses will pick up from the Hampton Inn parking lot on race morning.
Support & Amenities
There will be aid stations at miles 2.5, 6.75, and 10, offering electrolyte drinks, water, gels, and fruit. Carrying personal hydration is encouraged. Post-race, free food and drinks will be provided for finishers at the finish line. The race has a 4-hour time limit for the half marathon distance.
