River City Half Marathon
The event is a point to point Half Marathon in Columbus, GA, held along the Columbus Riverwalk. The course begins at Lake Oliver Marina and finishes at Oxbow Meadows near Fort Benning. Much of the route runs alongside the Chattahoochee River and crosses the North Highlands Dam before passing through historic Downtown Columbus.
The course features approximately 350 feet of total ascent and over 500 feet of total descent, producing a net downhill profile. Aid stations are positioned at miles 2.5, 6.75, and 10 and will offer water, electrolyte drinks, gels, and fruit. Runners are encouraged to carry a bottle, handheld, or hydration pack.
Packet pickup is available at DexaFit Columbus on the Friday and Saturday before the race and also at the start line on race morning. Registrants who signed up before September 21 receive a hoodie; later registrants receive a Revolution Running shirt. All finishers receive a finisher's medal. DexaFit is the title sponsor and offers discounted body scans and VO2 max tests for participants during packet pickup.
This is a point to point event with optional bus shuttles for those who purchase a ticket; shuttles transport participants from the finish back to the start. The event enforces a four hour cut off to complete the half marathon. A full refund is available until three months before the race date; after that no refunds are offered.
