About the race
River City Half Marathon is a point to point road race in Columbus, GA, held over October 10-11, 2026. The course begins at Lake Oliver Marina and finishes at Oxbow Meadows. The majority of the route runs alongside the Chattahoochee River, passes over the North Highlands Dam, goes through historic downtown Columbus, and finishes through Oxbow Meadows. The course has about 350 feet of uphill and over 500 feet of downhill elevation change.

Registered participants receive event apparel and finishers receive a medal. Hoodie orders require registration by September 21; entries after that receive a race shirt instead. Packet pickup is available at DexaFit Columbus (6440 W Hamilton Park Rd Suite B1, Columbus GA) on Friday and Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and also at the start line on race morning.
This is a point to point course. Runners who purchase a bus ticket will be shuttled from the finish area back to the start; buses pick up from the south end of the Hampton Inn parking lot at 2870 S Lumpkin Rd, Columbus GA. Aid stations are located at miles 2.5, 6.75, and 10 and will offer water, electrolyte drinks, gels, and fruit. Carrying a bottle or pack is strongly encouraged. Finish-line food and drinks are provided for finishers. Participants must complete the half marathon within four hours. Refunds are 100% until three months before the event; after that no refunds.
