Event overview
The event is a Half Marathon in Columbus, GA, organized along the Columbus Riverwalk. The race is a point-to-point course that starts at Lake Oliver Marina and finishes at Oxbow Meadows near Fort Benning. DexaFit Columbus is the title sponsor.
Course
The course runs mostly alongside the Chattahoochee River, passes over the North Highlands Dam, goes through historic downtown Columbus, and finishes at Oxbow Meadows. The route includes about 350 feet of total incline and over 500 feet of total decline. The organizer describes the course as fast.
Logistics and support
Packet pickup is available at DexaFit Columbus (6440 W Hamilton Park Rd, Suite B1) on Friday and Saturday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Shuttle buses are available for purchase to transport participants from the finish back to the start; bus pickup is from the south end of the Hampton Inn parking lot at 2870 S Lumpkin Rd. Aid stations will be located at miles 2.5, 6.75, and 10 and will offer electrolyte drinks, water, gels, and fruit. Carrying a bottle, handheld, or pack is encouraged. Post-race food and drinks will be provided to finishers.
Additional details
All finishers receive a medal. Runners registered by Sunday, Sept 21 receive a hoodie; later registrants receive a Revolution Running shirt. The event has a 4-hour course cutoff. Refunds are 100% until three months before the race date; after that there is no refund. Hotels near the start and finish are listed by the organizer.
