2026 Riordan King of the Mountain, Wycheproof VIC
The event takes place on 26 September 2026 in Wycheproof, Victoria. It comprises a program of foot races and relays centered on Mount Wycheproof, including load-carrying events, junior races and trail distances. Several races finish at or pass the summit.
Distances and main race formats
- 1 km King - 60 kg bag of wheat.
- 1 km Queen - 20 kg bag of wheat and wool.
- 1 km Junior King - 1 kg bag, ages 12 to 17.
- 1 km Junior Queen - 1 kg bag, ages 12 to 17.
- 1 km Boy's and Girl's Mountain Dash - under-12 sprint to summit.
- 5 km Wycheproof Mountain Loop - 5 km loop finishing at the summit.
- 21 km Half Marathon - 21 km trail, free entry via Agriculture Victoria grant.
- Wheelbarrow relays - women's event 20 kg, men's event 60 kg, teams hand over the barrow along the course.
King and Queen entries each include one complementary adult entry to the King of the Mount Picnic. The half marathon entry is listed as free thanks to a Look Over the Farm Gate grant provided by Agriculture Victoria under the Victorian Government's 2025 Drought Support Package.
