About the race
Ridge Runner Coromandel is a trail event held at White Star Station, 2140 Colville Road, Colville, Coromandel on 5 December 2026. The event runs entirely on private land with coastal and ridgeline views and offers two marked courses.
Distances:
- 24 km Trailblazer with a highest point of 527 m at the 10 km mark and total elevation gain and loss of 1260 m.
- 12 km Adventure with over 500 m of elevation that reconnects with the 24 km route near the Cookie Run.
The event provides on-course water stations at 3 km, 6 km, and 9 km and a refresh point with homemade treats at 5.5 km to go. Rather than traditional aid stations, participants select aid supplies at registration, including Tailwind electrolytes, lollies and water. The event is cup less; runners must carry a hydration pack or bring their own cup. Compulsory gear includes off‑road trail shoes, long sleeved thermal top, seam sealed jacket, beanie or buff, mobile phone, and whistle; fluid storage is required for the 24 km course. Participants must clean footwear before arrival to limit Kauri Dieback spread. Age limits apply: 24 km entrants must be at least 15 years and 12 km entrants at least 12 years on race day.
Camping at White Star Station for one night on an unpowered site is included with entry. Post-race provisions include a complimentary Debz gourmet burger (beef or falafel, preordered) and an after party with live music from Scotty Stone and a bonfire. Finishers receive a custom medal made from recycled wood and age group winners are recognised in online results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
