Ridge Rambler Half Marathon
The Ridge Rambler is a point to point half marathon near Bridgeport, California, with the start area at Twin Lakes and the finish at a lower elevation near Buckeye Road. The event supports Bridgeport Elementary School; all proceeds go to the school.
Check in is located on South Twin Road near the Lower Twin Lake Boating Site and is not at the starting line. Check in opens at 6:45am and closes at 7:45am. After checking in, participants may take a shuttle to the starting area or drive along the lakeside road and park on the roadside. The last shuttle to the start departs 15 minutes before the race.
The course begins at about 7,100 feet, follows the lake, then descends toward Buckeye Road at about 6,800 feet. Runners turn left onto Buckeye Road and climb a ridge where rolling hills continue; the highest point reaches about 7,130 feet. The finish is near 6,600 feet.
There are three aid stations with water along the course. The finish area will provide water, snacks, and a medal. Registration fees are listed as $70 per person or $80 after July 31. Registrations after August 26 are not guaranteed a t-shirt or medal. An after party is planned but details are pending. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
