Course and Format
The Richmond Park Marathon is a 26.2 mile trail run consisting of three laps within Richmond Park. The first lap is 12 miles long and covers a route around the park's perimeter and through its centre. The second and third laps each follow the Tamsin trail for approximately 7.1 miles. The start and finish area is located close to Sheen Gate (East Sheen Gate) on the park's north side.
Event Information
A lead cyclist will guide runners, and the route will be marked with signs and arrows. There is a course cut-off time of 6 hours 30 minutes. A free children's 3-mile event may also be held, depending on interest.
Logistics and Facilities
Race packs, including a race number and timing chip, are collected on race day. Water and energy gels are available at drink stations around the course at multiple points. A designated baggage area is provided near the start/finish.
Medical support is provided by the KLP Medical Team, including an ambulance and bicycle support. Over 20 race marshals will be present along the route. Public toilets are located inside Sheen Gate, with additional facilities at other park gates, and portaloo units will be available in the Sheen Gate car park.
Venue and Access
Limited car parking is available inside Sheen Gate, with additional parking on Sheen Lane and Fife Road outside the park. Roehampton Gate car park is also an option, approximately one mile from the start/finish area. The nearest overland train station is Mortlake Station, about a 15-minute walk away.
