Event Overview
The Resolution Prediction Run is a unique running event held at the Jeffers Hill Neighborhood Center in Columbia, Maryland. Unlike traditional races where the goal is to finish with the fastest time, this event focuses on accuracy and time prediction. Participants aim to complete the course as close to a specific target time as possible.
Race Format
The primary objective for all participants is to cross the finish line as close to 11:00 am as possible. A distinctive feature of this event is that runners choose their own start time based on when they believe they will finish. The individual who finishes closest to the designated time is declared the winner.
Course and Regulations
Participants navigate an 8K course. To maintain the integrity of the prediction aspect, the use of any timing devices is strictly prohibited during the run. Additionally, the event maintains specific safety and competition rules that exclude the use of baby strollers, iPods, headphones, or the presence of animals on the course.
Registration and Purpose
The event offers two registration categories for the 8K distance:
- 8K Prediction Run - Individual
- 8K Prediction Run - Student
All proceeds generated from this event are donated to the Tripp Scholar Athlete Fund. Registration takes place at the neighborhood center on the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
