General Information
The Reesor 50 is a running festival event featuring three race distances held at the Historic Reesor Ranch in the Cypress Hills, Saskatchewan. The event takes place from May 15 to 17, 2026.
Courses
Three distinct distances are offered.
- Reesor 50: An 81 km race with 2300 meters of elevation gain/loss. The terrain is listed as 75% trail and 25% dirt road.
- Reesor Mountain Marathon: A 42 km marathon with 1250 meters of elevation gain/loss. The terrain is 70% trail and 30% dirt road.
- Sundown 10: A Friday night 10 km race on 100% trail, with the elevation gain/loss to be determined (TBD).
Awards & Registration
The top three finishers in the two main races (Reesor 50 and Mountain Marathon) receive cash prizes. Race entry fees include a meal, a beverage, swag, and a finisher's token. Registration for the Sundown 10 includes the Friday night dinner (lasagna). Options to purchase other meals (Saturday breakfast, dinner) are available. Registration is capped at 300 runners.
On-Site Logistics
Accommodation at the ranch can be booked online when registration opens. Festival-style camping is available on-site for $40 per vehicle for the weekend. Facilities include bathrooms, portapotties, and showers. Other accommodation options (campgrounds, hotels, condos) are available in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, Elkwater, Reesor Lake, Maple Creek, and Medicine Hat.
