Reesor 50 Ultraranch Festival
The Reesor 50 Ultraranch Festival is a trail running weekend at the Historic Reesor Ranch near Maple Creek in Saskatchewan's Cypress Hills, held over a May weekend in 2027. Courses run through rolling grasslands, winding trails and beneath conglomerate cliffs of the Cypress Hills and include climbs and viewpoints of the surrounding landscape.
Distances:
- Reesor 50 : 50 miles (approximately 83 km), about 2,300 m vertical ascent
- Reesor Mountain Marathon : 42 km (about 42.5 km), about 1,250 m vertical ascent
- Reesor 10 : 10 km
- Sundown 10 : 10 km (Friday evening, ranch property)
- Sundown 5 : 5 km (Friday evening, ranch property)
The Reesor 50 course features six fully stocked aid stations and additional water-only stations; the mountain marathon has three fully stocked aid stations and an additional water-only station. Registration items vary by distance but commonly include a custom Buff brand buff, a meal and one beverage; some races include a finisher's patch and cash prizes. A combined cash prize purse of CA$10,000 is offered with equal prize money for top women and men in the Reesor 50 and the mountain marathon; detailed prize breakdowns are provided for each race.
Accommodation options include the ranch B&B and cabins with reservations opening October 15, 2026 and a two-night minimum, festival-style camping at the ranch (cost CA$50 per vehicle for the weekend; must be added by May 1, 2027) and other nearby hotels and campsites. Camping facilities include bathrooms, porta-potties and showers.
Refund and transfer policies are specified: full refund until February 1, 2027; 50% refund of the race fee only until April 1, 2027 with a CA$5 refund fee; no refunds after April 1, 2027. Distance changes are permitted until May 1, 2027 with a CA$5 fee; there are no person-to-person bib transfers. Deferrals are restricted to specific pregnancy-related circumstances.
