Red, White and Blue Half Marathon - Austin
Hosted by the Bigfoot Running Company, this event takes place at the Tanger Outlets in San Marcos, Texas. The race provides participants with a route through local trails and natural landscapes. The event features a variety of distances to accommodate different preferences:
- Kids Dash: A 50-meter non-timed dash for children aged 10 and under.
- 2 Mile Run: A non-chip-timed event for all experience levels.
- 4 Mile Run: A chip-timed race with overall and age group awards.
- 8 Mile Run: A chip-timed race with overall and age group awards.
- Half Marathon: A 13.1 mile chip-timed race.
- Volunteer then Run: A 4 mile option where participants assist with race logistics before running.
- Virtual Run: A remote version of the 13.1 mile distance.
The course primarily utilizes paved trails, though runners may also encounter surfaces such as crushed granite or dirt paths. Aid stations providing water are positioned along the route to support participants during their run.
All finishers across all distances receive a race shirt and a medal. For the chip-timed distances (4 miles, 8 miles, and the Half Marathon), trophies are awarded to the first overall male and female finishers. Specific age group awards are also provided, ranging from the 10 and under category to 70 and over.
