Red Shoe Run & Walk 5K, Iowa City
The Red Shoe Run & Walk 5K on 05/02/2027 supports Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. The event raises funds and awareness to keep families close to one another and close to medical care when it is needed most.
Participants may take part in an in-person 5K run or walk, a virtual 5K option, and a pricing tier is available for younger participants. The course begins and ends at Lower City Park in Iowa City. Strollers and leashed pets are permitted. On-site offerings include pre race snacks, a kids zone, and awards for top finishers across multiple age groups. A complimentary lunch is provided after the race.
Registration opens on 12/01/2026 and some registration deadlines vary by entry type. Registrations completed by 04/01 are guaranteed an official Red Shoe Run T shirt; registrations after that date receive shirts on a first come, first served basis at packet pickup and on race day.
