Red Shoe Run & Walk 5K - Iowa City
The Red Shoe Run & Walk 5K is presented by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. The 42nd annual event is scheduled for May 3, 2026 at Lower City Park, 200 Park Road, Iowa City, IA 52246. The event raises funds and awareness to support the charity's mission of keeping families close to each other and close to the care they need.
The event includes multiple participation options:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- Virtual Run/Walk
Participants may run, walk, or join virtually. The event is open to all ages and ability levels. Strollers and leashed pets are allowed.
On-site activities and services include pre-race snacks, a kids zone, and awards for top runners across multiple age groups. A free lunch is provided after the event. T-shirt information is published for registrants: registering by April 1 guarantees an official Red Shoe Run T-shirt; registrations after April 1 receive shirts on a first-come, first-served basis at packet pickup and on race day.
