Red Rock Canyon Ultra
Red Rock Canyon Ultra is a trail running event in the Red Rock National Conservation Area near Blue Diamond, Nevada. The event offers multiple distances:
- 100K
- 50K
- 17K
The 100K course follows trails from the Red Rock visitor center across Cottonwood Valley, through Aztec sandstone canyons and washes, past quarries and limestone formations, and reaches the base of the area known as Satan's Escalator before finishing in the town of Blue Diamond. Course maps are provided for each distance and for individual sections between aid stations.
Aid stations and drop bag locations are placed along the course at multiple mile markers, including Lost Creek (mile 7), South Oak Creek (mile 15.5), Blue Diamond (mile 19.5 and mile 27.5), Mud Spring (around miles 25.75, 33.5 and 37.75), Late Night (around miles 43.5 and 58.25), Red Valley (around miles 47.75 and 55.75) and the Satan's Escalator area (mile 53.5). The 100K finish is around mile 62.5. The 17K course has no aid stations and participants should carry their own water.
Logistics include remote event parking for 50K and 100K with shuttle service to the start and separate parking for 17K at Blue Diamond Park. Packet pickup is at CraftHaus Downtown.
