Red River Ultrafest : Moorhead, MN
Red River Ultrafest is a multi-day endurance event held in Moorhead, Minnesota. The festival offers timed distance events with participants aiming to cover as much distance as possible within set time limits. Distances offered include:
- 3 hours
- 6 hours
- 12 hours
- 24 hours
Each lap of the marked course is five miles. The route begins on trails in Gooseberry, crosses a bridge into Lindenwood, continues north to Dike East, and returns to Gooseberry. For the three, six and twelve hour events, participants may use a 1.1 mile loop during their final hour.
There are two competition categories for each time domain: Run/Walk and Ruck. Ruck competitors must carry a 35 lb pack and supply their own pack and weights. Events are combined male and female fields. Finishers receive an award and the event provides a race T-shirt and finish pizza. If a runner reaches 100 miles or a rucker reaches 100 kilometers, the participant receives a buckle.
Organizers will staff a main aid station stocked with snacks and fuel; participants are asked to bring a collapsible cup if possible. A lightly stocked water station will be available at the turnaround point. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
