Event Overview
The Red River Ultrafest is an ultramarathon event taking place over two days. It bills itself as the first ultramarathon in the Fargo/Moorhead area.
Race Format
The event offers multiple timed race options, each with two participation categories.
- 3 Hour
- 6 Hour
- 12 Hour
- 24 Hour
For each of these time domains, participants can choose to enter either the Run/Walk category or the Ruck category. The Ruck category requires participants to carry a weighted pack (45 lbs for men, 35 lbs for women) which they must supply themselves. All races are male/female combined.
Course and Location
The course is a 5-mile lap. It starts on trails in Gooseberry Park, crosses a bridge into Lindenwood Park, heads north to Dike East, and returns to Gooseberry to complete the lap. The event takes place at 100 22nd Ave S in Moorhead, Minnesota.
Participant Inclusions
Registration includes a race t-shirt, a finisher's award, finish pizza, and access to snacks and fuel at the aid station. Organizers note the main aid station will be well-stocked and encourage participants to bring a collapsible cup, as cups will be limited. A lightly stocked water station is available at the turnaround point.
