Trail Running Along the Red River
The Red River Run is an established athletic event organized by the Lake Agassiz Pacers. Held in Moorhead, the event takes place at MB Johnson Park, located at 3601 11th St N. The 2026 edition marks the 51st anniversary of the race, which has been held annually since 1974.
The event features a course that follows the trails along the river. These trails are winding and can be narrow in sections, and participants should be aware that the surface may become muddy or slippery in the event of rain. Due to the nature of the terrain, pets and strollers are not permitted on the course. The routes are USATF certified to ensure accurate distances for all participants.
Available distances include:
- 5 km trail run
- 15 km trail run
Logistics for the day include packet pickup and on-site registration starting in the morning at the park. While no formal awards ceremony is scheduled, awards are distributed to participants at the finish line.
