About the race
RDM Trail Race in Trussville, AL on May 22, 2027 is a trail running event held at Cahaba Mountain with start and finish at the Trussville Senior Citizens Center parking lot (504 Cherokee Dr).
The event offers these distances:
- 5 mile single loop on technical single track trails.
- 5K that follows the same trails but cuts off certain portions.
The course is roughly 90% trail with multiple switchbacks, elevation changes, and varied terrain. Roots and rocks are common, so trail shoes or hiking boots are recommended. There is one aid station near the halfway point and additional support at the start/finish area.
Bibs for the two distances use different colors. If a participant registers for both distances separately, their official time and placing will be recorded with the 5 mile awards and they will receive an extra event item. All registrants receive a finishers medal. Overall 1st to 3rd male and female finishers in each distance receive memberships as prizes for 1st through 3rd places. Age divisions are Under 20, 21-35, 36-50, and Masters (50+). The event limits total entries to 150 competitors.
