Rainbow Beach Trail Festival, Rainbow Beach : 8 August 2026
The Rainbow Beach Trail Festival is staged from Phil Rogers Park at the south end of Wide Bay Esplanade and features routes through the Cooloola Coast sand cliffs and coastal landscapes. The course passes coloured sands overlooking the Coral Sea, lush forests, perched lakes, rising sand dunes and a historic lighthouse. Terrain includes single track, fire roads and beaches; all races start and finish at Phil Rogers Park.

- 11 km, entry fee $90, minimum age 12

Entry and event services are managed in advance; there are no entries on the day. Refunds are available until 25 July 2026 and are subject to a $30 administration charge. Transfers to another person or event are not permitted. All finishers receive an event memento.
The course is marked with reflective orange and silver flagging tape (approximately every 250 m), red directional arrows at intersections and red crosses indicating incorrect routes. Checkpoints 1, 3 and 5 provide water, electrolyte and small snacks but no cups; checkpoints 2 and 4 offer minimal water. There are no drop bags. The course may change due to bush fires, flooding or harvesting; competitors must follow on-course markings.
Mandatory items include a mobile phone for emergencies, a visible race bib, a compression bandage and a water bottle or hydration pack (minimum 1.5 L for marathon; minimum 500 ml for half marathon and 11 km). GPX and KML map files are provided in the Maps section and use of mapping apps is recommended. Support crews are only permitted at the start/finish area and spectators are welcome there.
