Event overview
The Rainbow Beach Trail Festival is held in Rainbow Beach, Queensland, on 8 August 2026. The event is based at Phil Rogers Park and uses trails on the Cooloola Coast, including single track, fire roads and beach sections. Course scenery includes sand cliffs, forests, perched lakes, sand dunes and a historic lighthouse. No entries are accepted on the day.

Minimum age limits apply: 11 km - 12 years, Half Marathon - 15 years, Marathon - 18 years. All finishers receive an event memento. Refunds are available until 25 July 2026 and are subject to a $30 administrative charge. Transfers to another person or event are not permitted.
Course, markings and checkpoints
The course is marked with reflective orange and silver flagging tape (approximately every 250 m) and red directional arrows on a white background. Red crosses indicate paths that are not the course. The organiser may change the course because of bush fires, flooding or harvesting; participants should follow on-course markings.
Checkpoints 1, 3 and 5 provide water, electrolyte, lollies, fruit and small snacks but no disposable cups. Checkpoints 2 and 4 provide minimal water only. There are no drop bags at this event and disposable cups are not provided.
Mandatory gear and logistics
Mandatory items include a mobile phone with emergency contacts, a race bib worn visibly, a compression bandage and personal hydration - minimum 1.5 litres for marathon entrants and minimum 500 ml for half marathon and 11 km entrants. Recommended items include sunscreen, insect repellent, bite and sting treatment, a wet weather jacket and maps. Support crews are not allowed on the course; they may be at the Phil Rogers Park start/finish area only. Maps and GPX/KML files are provided for each distance.
