Railway Marathon & accompanying events
The Railway Marathon & Half Marathon presented by CraneWorks takes place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Fultondale, Alabama (777 Yarbrough Road, Fultondale, AL 35068). The event includes multiple distances:
- 50K

- 5K (The Covenant Rescue Group 5K)
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The marathon entry is open to ages 14 to 99.
Course and event details
Races start at Black Creek Park and run on the Five Mile Creek Greenway, a rails-to-trail route that passes through Fultondale, Gardendale, and Brookside. The course is described as relatively flat and is USATF certified as a Boston qualifier. Timing is electronic with chip timing. The cut-off time for all events, including the 50K, is six hours.
Aid stations on the course provide water, sports drinks, and gels only. All finishers in the listed distances receive a custom finisher medal at the finish line. Packet pick up is available at The Trak Shak in Birmingham (2839 18th St S, Birmingham, AL 35209) on the day before the race, with a limited packet pick up option at the race by the finish line on race morning.
