Rail Trail Run and Ride - Scottsdale, Tasmania
The Rail Trail Run and Ride takes place along the North East Tasmania Rail Trail between Scottsdale and Billycock Hill. The event was established in 2018 and is organised by the Rotary Club of Scottsdale in partnership with the Launceston Running Club. It operates as a not-for-profit event with proceeds directed to trail maintenance and improvement.
Distances are offered across running and riding categories:
- Run distances: 54 km, 27 km, 14 km, 7 km, 2 km
- Ride distances: 54 km, 30 km, 18 km, 7 km
Participant support and inclusions include multiple hydration and aid stations along the course, a dedicated emergency response team on course, and professional traffic management at the three Tasman Highway (A3) crossings. Entries receive a personalised bib when submitted by 24 August and a finisher's medal. No on-the-day entries will be accepted for 2026.
Entry fees vary by distance and entry period; run fees and ride fees are offered as Early Bird and Late Fee rates, with Early Bird availability until 24 August 2026 and Late Fees until 16 September 2026. Discounts are available for families, multi-day entries, and members of selected clubs or associations; requests for discounts must be made prior to registration.
