Ragnar Trail Arizona Individual
The event is an individual trail race held November 6-7, 2026, at McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Fort McDowell, Arizona. It offers a range of solo formats and a weekend base called Ragnar Village with food trucks, music, yoga, a bonfire with s'mores, and partner prizes.
Available race options include:
- Single Loop: 6.6 miles on the Red Loop (471 ft total elevation gain)
- 6H Ultra: unlimited loops on a 15.2 mile course
- 24H Ultra: unlimited loops on a 15.2 mile course
The Red Loop runs through the lower foothills of the McDowell Mountains across classic Sonoran Desert terrain. Trail surfaces are described as hard-packed with some gravel and rocky patches, occasional sandy washes, rolling terrain, and a few stronger climbs. Vegetation includes saguaro cacti and desert trees lining washes, and the route offers mountain ridge views with minimal canopy cover.
Course metrics provided include 471 ft total elevation gain for the Red Loop and 1,002 ft total elevation gain for the full course used by the timed ultras. Listed registration prices are $40 for the Single Loop, $175 for the 6H Ultra, and $250 for the 24H Ultra; these prices are stated as inclusive of registration fees.
