Reach the Beach Relay
Reach the Beach Relay runs September 17-18, 2027, from the White Mountains to Hampton Beach on the New Hampshire seacoast. The event covers roughly 200 miles and moves from mountain roads past Lake Winnipesaukee through small New England towns before finishing on Hampton Beach State Park.
Teams run overnight across multiple legs, with options that vary by team size, leg count, and duration:
- Standard Team: 12-person, 36 legs, 2 days, ~200 miles
- Ultra Team: 6-person, 36 legs, 2 days, ~200 miles
- Sprint Team: 6-person, 12 legs, 1 day, ~60 miles
- Sprint Ultra: 3-person, 12 legs, 1 day, ~60 miles
Standard and Ultra teams start in the heart of the White Mountains. Sprint and Sprint Ultra teams start at Bear Brook State Park. All distances finish at Hampton Beach State Park on the New Hampshire seacoast. Closest airports listed are Boston Logan Airport and Manchester Boston Regional Airport with multihour driving times to the start and shorter drives to the finish.
Amenities at the finish include a beach party and beer garden, finisher medals and finisher T-shirts for each team member, a long sleeve quarter-zip pullover for each Team Captain, and a complimentary meal. Organizers note community support along the course. Expected September temperatures are about 65°F to 78°F during the day and 40°F to 50°F at night.
