Road Northwest Passage
Road Northwest Passage is a team road relay running from the Canadian border at Blaine, WA to Langley, WA on Whidbey Island. The route passes Deception Pass, Anacortes, and other coastal sections with views of the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound. The course mixes forested trails and seaside roads and covers a total of 193.5 miles. Average miles per runner are 11–22 miles and elevation gain is described as moderate.
Teams can choose from several formats with different team sizes and durations. Standard teams are 12 runners over two days and one night with a listed price of $2,195. Ultra teams list 6 runners over two days and one night. Sprint and Sprint Ultra options are also offered for shorter team sizes and durations.
Major exchanges bring Van 1 and Van 2 together and are presented with partner product sampling and demo experiences. The finish line on Whidbey Island is described as a festival like environment with a finish line party. On course amenities include a beer garden, free pizza, free massage, and hot shower opportunities and overnight sleeping at Exchanges 12, 24, and 30.
