Event overview
Race to Space is set for May 9, 2026 in McMinnville, Oregon, at Linfield University’s Wellness Trail. The event offers multiple timed options: 12-hour, 8-hour, 6-hour, 3-hour, and 1-hour races, plus a 4-loop relay for teams of 2-4 runners. A new Bingo Run option is offered in three formats: Bingo 10, Bingo 20, and Bingo 30. Runners draw a number each lap and finish when the three numbers on their bib are matched. Profits from the event go to charity. Entry prices through the end of December are listed per event, with timed-event fees ranging from $25 to $80 and the relay priced per team.
Course and logistics
The course is an approximately 1.5-mile loop on a mostly dirt and bark-dust trail. The start/finish and aid station are located near 57 SW Keck Drive, McMinnville, OR. The aid station supplies water, an electrolyte drink, and assorted snacks; runners with specific needs are advised to bring their own supplies and reusable cups. The trail is not very technical; road shoes are recommended in dry conditions and trail shoes may be preferable when wet. Parking is adjacent to packet pickup. Participants should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled event to collect race bibs.
Additional information
All participants receive a pair of running socks; shirts may be provided if entry numbers meet a threshold. Top finishers receive awards. No refunds or transfers are offered. The event is produced largely by students from a Linfield University class, with any surplus funds directed to a local charity. Volunteers are needed for registration, course monitoring, aid stations, waste management, and set-up/takedown. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
