Race the Night - Illiniwek Forest Preserve
Race the Night is a trail running event held at Illiniwek Forest Preserve in Hampton, IL on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Participants choose between a 7K or 14K course that takes place on single-track mountain bike trails.
The trail system features two notable climbs of about 100 feet per loop and otherwise rolls through forested terrain with rocks and roots. Headlamps are required and are available at Fleet Feet. Manned aid stations provide water and are accompanied by music and staff energy on the loop.

Packet pickup is offered at Fleet Feet in Davenport on the Friday before the event and at the Illiniwek Forest Preserve (race site) on the day of the event. Awards are given to the top five male and female finishers for each distance in both Open and Masters (40+) categories.
After the race, participants can warm up by a fire while fall food and live music are available. Registration by 10.30 secures a limited edition souvenir tee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
