Gloucester 10k Race for Life
This Race for Life event is organised by Cancer Research UK at Gloucester Park, Park Road, Gloucester GL1 1LH. It includes chip timed running options on courses that run through the city centre and the Historic Docks, with the start and finish located on grass opposite the band stand.
The event offers the following distances:
- 10k: double lap of the 5k route, returning to Gloucester Park and looping out into Spa Road
- 5k
- 3k
The route is on a mix of tarmac and hardstanding, with the start and finish on flat grass that may become soft or muddy in wet weather. The course uses mainly road closures and pathways. The event site notes that wheelchair users can take part with assistance; users may bypass the grass start and finish areas if required.
Practical information includes no parking inside Gloucester Park, blue badge parking at Gloucester Quays car park approximately 600 m from the start, and road closures in place from 08:00 which may affect access. The nearest bus stop is The Park and the nearest train station is about a 10 minute walk. Pedestrian access is recommended via Spa Road and Albion Street.
Entry pricing and participation rules: adult entry is listed at £20.49, child entry at £14.00, and a minimum fundraising target of £50. Child entries are for ages 6 to 15 and must be registered and accompanied by a parent or guardian; children under 6 can attend free but are not registered participants.
