Race for Grace Place
The Race for Grace Place is a community event held in Jackson, Mississippi. The event takes place at Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church and serves as a fundraiser to support Grace Place, a ministry that assists individuals facing food insecurity. The funds raised contribute to providing meals, clothing, and community celebrations.
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- Block Walk (a short walk around the city block where the church is situated)
The event proceeds regardless of weather conditions and is accompanied by several activities beyond the race itself. Participants can explore an art sale, bid in a silent auction, or take part in tours of Grace Place and the Foundery. After completing their respective routes, all participants are served a meal.
Awards are presented following the conclusion of the 5K events. Recognition is given to the first, second, and third-place finishers in the men's and women's categories for both the 5K run and the 5K walk. Parking is available on nearby streets and at designated local church and office lots. On-site registration is available the morning of the event for those who did not register online in advance.
