Event Overview
Race for Grace Place is a fundraising event supporting Grace Place, a community ministry of Galloway United Methodist Church in Jackson, Mississippi. Grace Place provides services such as breakfast four days a week, a clothing closet, worship opportunities, and celebrations, aiming to serve people who are food insecure.
Event Details
The event takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church, located at 305 North Congress Street, Jackson, MS 39201. Participants can choose from three activities:
- A 5K Run
- A 5K Walk
- A Block Walk, which is a shorter walk around the city block where Galloway Church is located
The 5K run and walk, as well as the Block Walk, all begin at the same time.
Registration and Packet Pick-Up
Online registration closes on Friday, April 10, at 7:00 PM. Onsite registration will be available on race day starting at 7:00 AM. Participants who register after 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 9, will not receive their race bib until the morning of the event.
Packet pick-up is scheduled for Friday, April 10, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Grace Place. On race day, packet pick-up will be available starting at 7:00 AM.
Awards and Activities
Awards will be presented immediately following the 5K run and walk. Categories include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for men and women in both the running and walking 5K events.
Post-race activities include an art sale, tours of the Foundery, and a meal served to all participants. The event proceeds rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
