Race for a Legacy 5K
Race for a Legacy 5K is a fundraising 5K run/walk held Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Louisville High School, 1201 S. Nickelplate St., Louisville, OH 44641. The event offers a general 5K and a student 5K category. General registration opens July 31, 2025 and closes April 8, 2026 with a fee of $30. Student registration opens February 1, 2026 and closes May 9, 2026 with a fee of $15. Registration includes a participant t-shirt.
The course begins in a neighborhood, follows a paved trail, and finishes in the school parking lot. Timing is provided by GCXC Racing - Youngstown. Onsite features include a DJ, first responder vehicles on display, and student groups providing activities before and after the event. Sponsors listed for this year include YB Studios.
Proceeds are directed to Legacy of Honor, a 501 c3 non-profit organization that serves first responders, active military, veterans and their families. The organization focuses on three pillars: Operation Bootstrap, Operation RAK (Random Acts of Kindness), and community event partnerships.
