Querétaro Maratón 2026 : event overview
Querétaro Maratón 2026 is an organized road-race event in Querétaro, Mexico, with four officially sanctioned distances. The event is certified by Mundo del Atletismo en México, A.C. and the Asociación Queretana de Atletismo (AQA). The organizer limits total participation to 19,500 runners, with allocated slots per distance: 42 km, 21.0975 km, 10 km, and 5 km.
Distances:
- 42 km : 1,200 slots.
- 21.0975 km : 7,250 slots.
- 10 km : 7,250 slots.
- 5 km : 3,800 slots.
Participation is open only to persons who are 18 years or older on the date of the race. Registrations are exclusively online and open from 18 May until 28 September or until places sell out; payments are by Visa or MasterCard and include a small banking service fee. Part of each registration fee supports the municipal fire brigade.
Registered runners receive a competition shirt, water and isotonic supply on course, a timing chip, bib resistant to water, post-race recovery food, medal, medical and ambulance service, restrooms, and guarded bag drop. There are special categories for wheelchair athletes, visually impaired runners, and runners using crutches with specific participation rules. Prize money and recognitions are established for absolute winners and special categories, with applicable tax retentions and anti-doping procedures.
