Quail Trail 5K
The Quail Trail 5K takes place on the grounds of the historic Pebble Hill Plantation in Thomasville, Georgia. This event features a 5,000-meter cross country course that traverses various sections of the museum's 3,000-acre estate. The route is certified by USA Track & Field under certification number GA23040WC.
The course is characterized by hilly terrain and includes multiple changes in elevation. Participants encounter a variety of running surfaces throughout the race, including pea gravel, grass, dirt, red clay, and asphalt.
Participation in this event supports the Pebble Hill Preservation Fund. These funds contribute to the ongoing maintenance and historic preservation of the main house and the surrounding grounds. Pebble Hill Plantation operates as a non-profit organization focused on cultural education regarding history, art, and antiques.
Awards are presented to the first male and female finishers in the Open and Master's (40+) divisions. Additionally, the top three finishers in several age categories receive awards. These categories include:
- 19 and under
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60-69
- 70 and over
