Pyramid Lake Sprint Triathlon
Pyramid Lake Sprint Triathlon takes place at Pyramid Lake with the start and finish located just south of the Sutcliffe Marina. The event follows a sprint triathlon format and is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. Athletes must include their USAT membership number on registration and present their USAT membership card at packet pickup. Athletes without a current membership card will be required to pay the one day mandatory USAT fee of $15; relay teams must pay for all three members for a total of $45.
Distances and basic course notes:
- Swim: Half-mile loop, 68 - 72 degree water expected, wetsuits recommended.
- Bike: 14 miles north on State Route 445 to Warrior Point turnaround.
- Run: 3 miles out-and-back south of the Marina via pavement and old railroad grade.
Chip timing will be used and timing chips are distributed the morning of the race. Race packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday, July 16 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Eclipse Pizza, 3950 Mayberry Dr, Reno. Pyramid Lake is located about 33 miles north of Reno on State Route 445; from I-80 take the Pyramid Way exit #19 and proceed north 33 miles.
