Purple Stride 5K - McAllen
Purple Stride 5K is a community running event on November 7, 2026 at Tres Lagos, 4900 Tres Lagos Blvd, McAllen, Texas. The event is organized by Hot Moms Run Club RGV and Moms In Motion and benefits epilepsy awareness during National Epilepsy Awareness Month. It was created to honor children and families navigating life with Dravet syndrome and to support local families affected by epilepsy.
Distances offered:
- 5K (3.1 miles), registration fee $30
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, registration fee $15
The 5K registration includes an official race shirt, a custom finisher medal, chip timing with live results, and access to the finish line celebration. Race shirt orders require registration by October 17, 2026; participants who register after that date will receive shirts while supplies last.
Packet pickup takes place at Valley Running Co., 1701 Dove Ave W J, McAllen, TX on the day before the race, November 6, 2026. The race morning features live music, community wellness vendors, and a family friendly atmosphere.
Awards are planned for overall male, overall female, overall non-binary, and age group divisions. Age groups include 13 and under, 14 to 19, then 10-year increments from 20 to 79, and 70 and over.
