Pup-A-Go 5k Hike/Run : Papago Park, Phoenix
Pup-A-Go is a community 5K hike and run held at the Papago Park West Butte Trailhead in Phoenix, AZ on January 10. The event is organized by GhostHead Productions in partnership with Home Fur Good. Hikers and runners may participate with or without dogs; participants who bring dogs are asked to respect other users on the course.
Dogs must be vaccinated and kept on a leash at all times while on the course and throughout the event. Doggie poop bags will be provided at the start and participants are asked to pick up after their animals. A portion of the registration fee will be donated to Home Fur Good, a no-kill animal shelter.
The course consists of one counterclockwise loop around Papago Park and will be marked at critical junctions. An aid station at the start area will supply cold water, a hydration mix, snacks, and bananas; there are no other aid stations on the course. Additional parking is available across the street from the start, and restrooms will be set up at the start area. The event will take place rain or shine and organizers state there are no refunds for cancellations.
All paid 5K entrants will receive a Pup-A-Go sticker and a commemorative Pup-A-Go / Home Fur Good swag item. Registration closes December 25; late entries may not guarantee swag. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
