Event Overview
The Pumpkin Run 5K and Munchkin Mile take place at the Malone Rec Park in New York. This community event focuses on fitness for various age groups and supports the Alice Hyde Medical Center. The event proceeds rain or shine, and participants are encouraged to wear pumpkin-themed attire. Both courses begin and end at the Kelly Pavilion, providing a central location for logistics.
Distances and Course Information
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile
The 5K is open to adults and children ages 5 and up, though children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace.
The Munchkin Mile is a 1-mile roundtrip route intended for children aged 10 and under. This course follows a paved walking path through a wooded area of the park on the State Street side. Volunteers are stationed along the route, and parents or guardians may accompany children on this course at no additional cost.
Participant Amenities
Every person who finishes the 5K receives a finisher's medal and entry into prize drawings featuring over $2000 in prizes. Note that these drawings are exclusively for 5K participants.
Participants in the Munchkin Mile receive a finisher's medal and a pumpkin-themed drawstring backpack containing stickers and goodies. After the run, children can participate in pumpkin decorating and take a real pumpkin home.
