Pumpkin Plod at Ferry Meadows
Pumpkin Plod takes place at Ferry Meadows, a large country park in Nene Park located less than three miles from Peterborough city centre. The course uses varied park landscapes and is set on country park footpaths and grass areas.
The event is organised as a timed, lap-based challenge offered in four-hour or six-hour formats. The lap measures 5.3 km and follows mixed surfaces including gravel footpaths and some grass, creating a multi-terrain course. An aid station is available each lap and the format requires minimal navigation or kit.
Standard lap counts given in advance are five laps for a heavy half marathon and nine laps for an ultra marathon, with options to adjust lap targets on the day and examples noted up to 12 laps. Participants may complete official 5k, 10k, half marathon, full marathon or ultra distances within the timed formats.
Race HQ and registration are based at the Lakeside Centre on the watersports side of the park, with the start arch and event gazebos visible from nearby parking and toilet areas. Parking at the park is chargeable. Organisers recommend road trainers though trail shoes may be useful depending on weather. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own bottles or cups. Bespoke event medals are provided and virtual entries for medal collection are offered.
