Event overview
Pumpkin Plod is a timed running event organised by Zig Zag Running at Ferry Meadows, Peterborough on 25 October 2026. The event is offered in either a 6-hour or a 4-hour format depending on the chosen start. Entrants must be at least 18 years old. Maximum field is 300 runners and entries close on 24 October 2026. Entry options include a bespoke event medal or a lucky dip finisher medal. Ticket prices range from about £35 to £38.
Format and distances
The course uses a measured lap of 5.3 km. Standard lap counts given by the organiser include:
- 5 laps for a heavy half marathon option
- 9 laps for a standard ultra option
- 5k, 10k, half, full and ultra options are supported
Runners may rest between laps. The organiser allows extra laps near the end of the session subject to the event cut-off. The event is cupless - participants should bring their own bottle or cup.
Location and facilities
The event is based at the Lakeside Centre on the watersports side of Ferry Meadows, Ham Lane, Peterborough, PE2 5UU. The Race HQ and lap point include an aid station for each lap. Terrain is mainly gravel footpaths and some grass areas - described as multi-terrain - and road trainers are suggested though trail shoes may be useful depending on weather. Parking at the park is chargeable. Registration and bib collection are at the Lakeside Centre and baggage is left in cars near the start.
