Pumpkin Plod
Pumpkin Plod is a multi-lap timed event held at Ferry Meadows, Peterborough, with an event base at the Lakeside Centre on the watersports side of the park. The format runs in either a 6 hour or a 4 hour option, and participants complete as many laps as they wish within their chosen time.
The course is a 5.3 km loop that uses traffic-free park paths and some grass sections. The surface is approximately 82% sealed path and 18% trail, mainly firm sealed or tarmac with short sections of softer trail. The loop has around 17 m of total climb with a high point near 15 m and a low point near 3 m.
Support and logistics are provided from the Race HQ and lap point where an aid station is available every lap. A GPX file for the course is available from the event course information. Parking at the park is chargeable. The event is cupless, and participants are expected to use their own bottle or cup for refilling.
One lap equals a standard 5k and laps stack for longer distances; typical lap counts are noted for half marathon and ultra options but may be adjusted on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
