Puketapu Night Run 2026

Puketapu Night Run is a night trail running event held at Puketapu School in Hawke's Bay along the Tutaekuri River. The 2026 edition is the sixth running and takes place on Friday 31 July 2026.

The event offers three distance options:

6 km
11 km
17 km

Entries can be solo or as a relay. The event is organised by the Puketapu School Parents' League as a fundraiser for the school. The organiser presents age ranges for participants from 6 to 100+.

For 2026 the full Puketapu loop returns and the course will be run in the opposite direction to previous years. A new 11 km Puketapu Pacer distance has been added to provide an intermediate option between the shortest and the full 17 km course. The 2025 event had over 500 runners on the trail.
