Pride 5K Run / Walk - Front Runners & Walkers
The San Diego Pride 5K is a community 5-kilometre run and walk presented by Front Runners & Walkers San Diego. The course is USATF sanctioned and uses chip timing; results are published the day of the event and online. The route is an out-and-back that starts and finishes at University Avenue and Richmond Street in Hillcrest, runs west on University, turns south on 6th Avenue, enters Balboa Park to a halfway turnaround, and returns to the finish.
Event formats include in-person and virtual participation. In-person participants receive a short-sleeve race shirt and a finisher’s medal; virtual participants receive their packet by mail the week of July 13, 2026. Packet pick-up occurs before race day at the LGBT Center in Hillcrest, with limited pick-up at University and Richmond on race morning. The event was sold out for 2026 and a future edition is scheduled for July 17, 2027.
The event supports local charity partners including The Center’s Youth Housing Project and San Diego Pride Community Grants. Team registration is available; teams must have at least four members to qualify for scoring, with the four fastest times counting. Refunds or transfers are not offered.
Course support includes portable restrooms and water at the start, finish and one course location. Safety rules restrict bicycles, inline skates, motorized scooters, and pets except service animals; baby joggers are permitted but asked to start behind other participants.
