The Poznań Maraton is a major running event held in the city of Poznań. The main race covers the classic distance of 42.195 km and consists of a single loop. The course is officially certified by AIMS, World Athletics, and PZLA, with each kilometer clearly marked. Participants start on Grunwaldzka Street and finish at the Poznań International Fair (Plac Marka).
In addition to the main marathon, the event features several supporting races and activities:
- Poznań Five - a 5 km race
- Pho3nix Kids Maraton - runs for children and youth
- Poznań Run Expo
The marathon is open to runners who are at least 18 years old on race day. The time limit for completing the course is 6 hours. Runners are organized into starting zones based on their declared finish times. For hydration and nutrition, stations are located approximately every 5 km along the route, providing water and, at selected points, isotonic drinks and fruit. After crossing the finish line, participants receive a medal and a hot meal.
The event also hosts the Academic Polish Cup for students and university employees. Amenities for participants include deposit areas, changing rooms, and showers at the Poznań International Fair grounds. The first 600 registered participants can also request free accommodation in sports halls. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
