Power of Pink 5K
The Power of Pink 5K is the 19th running of a community event held on Commerce Street in the Frog Level area of Waynesville, North Carolina. The race takes place on September 19, 2026, and includes opportunities for both running and walking the 5K distance. The event was created in 2012 and supports fundraising for medical screening and follow-up care in Haywood County.
Since its inception the event has raised over $200,000, which has provided 1,975 mammograms and follow-up procedures to more than 1,000 men and women in Haywood County. The description of the event identifies this fundraising purpose as a central element of the event.
There are two registration categories. The timed category records participant times and makes participants eligible for awards. The untimed category is for participants who do not receive a time and are not eligible for awards. Registration pricing varies by date: $28.74 for registrations from May 1 through August 31, and $34.09 for registrations from September 1 through September 17. The event is presented as a local, charitable run and walk in Waynesville with a focus on supporting screening and follow-up services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
