Power of Pink 5K
The Power of Pink 5K is organized in partnership with the Haywood Healthcare Foundation and takes place in Frog Level in downtown Waynesville on Commerce Street. The 2026 event is the 19th running and is scheduled for September 19, 2026.
Since its creation in 2012 the event has raised over $200,000, which has provided 1,975 mammograms and follow up procedures to over 1,000 men and women in Haywood County.
Online registration opens on May 1 and closes on September 17. Walk up registration on race morning is anticipated and shirts may be limited. Entry fees for 2026 are $25 for regular entry from May 1 to August 31 and $30 for late entry from September 1 to race day; adding a dog to a registration is an additional $10. Groups of five or more may register under a single team name at a rate of $20 per person. Registration platform service charges and taxes apply.
Packet pickup will occur on September 19 at Commerce Street in Frog Level. The course starts in front of Panacea and Frog Level Brewing and follows a clockwise route through Hazelwood. Except for one hill at the start the course is mostly flat with 111 feet of elevation gain. Chip timing is used and timing chips are located on the race bib which must be worn on the front of race clothes.
All participants receive a race shirt and sponsor goodies. Raffle baskets and memory ribbons are available; memory ribbons are sold for $5 and will be displayed in the Haywood Regional Hospital Cancer Center after the event. Well behaved dogs with current vaccinations and tags are welcome and should be registered. Parking options are available about a quarter mile from the venue and there is no parking on Commerce Street during the event. The event has a no refund policy and transfers must be completed through the registration platform by September 17. The Town of Waynesville prohibits the use of tobacco and e cigarettes in business districts, including the event venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
