Power of Pink 5K : Waynesville, NC
The Power of Pink 5K is an annual community running and walking event held in Frog Level in downtown Waynesville on September 19, 2026. The event partners with the Haywood Health Care Foundation and has been held since 2012. Since its creation the event has raised over $200,000 and has funded 1,975 mammograms and follow up procedures for more than 1,000 men and women in Haywood County.
The 5K uses a clockwise course that begins in front of Panacea and Frog Level Brewing and runs through Hazelwood. Apart from one hill at the start, the course is largely flat with 111 feet of total elevation gain. This is the third year the event is using this course.
Registration is online and open on specific dates; group registration is available for teams of five or more at a reduced rate when registering under a single team name. Entry fees for 2026 include a regular rate and a late rate, and there is an additional fee to register a dog. All participants receive a race shirt and sponsor giveaways.
Race day features packet pickup at Commerce Street in Frog Level, chip timing with chips on the race bib, raffle baskets and memory ribbons available for purchase, post race food and music, and awards for overall, masters, age groups, creative participants, fastest dog and team categories. Two nearby parking options are provided and there is no parking on Commerce Street during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
