About the race
The Pokapū Orienteering Championships 2026 are the Central Regional Championships held at Waitārere Beach and organised jointly by Orienteering Wellington and Orienteering Hutt Valley. The event features three races in the area's complex sand-dune forests across two days on 21–22 November 2026. Two of the races are designated championship events: a Middle distance race on mapped terrain called Osgiliath and a Long distance race at a mapped area called Walda. Between these championship races there is a Twilight Short event at Hydrabad on the same coastal mapping system; this Twilight Short event is a non-championship forest race. Online entries are handled through enterO.
Standard entry fees apply until 23:59 on Sunday 1 November, and late entries close at 23:59 on Sunday 8 November. Bulletin 1 provides the preliminary programme, entry fees, course information, competition details and embargo information. Results, race maps and Livelox routes will be added to the individual event cards after each race. Information published includes the programme of events and links to the separate event pages for Middle, Twilight Short and Long races.
The material focuses on course locations, competition format and entry procedures for the regional championships at Waitārere Beach. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
