Points East Lighthouse Run
The Points East Lighthouse Run is organized by the PEI Roadrunners Club, an affiliate member of Sport PEI. The club's mandate is to promote the sport of running on Prince Edward Island and to encourage Islanders to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle.
The route follows the Points East Coastal Drive and runs along sections of eastern Prince Edward Island coastline. The race begins at the historic East Point Lighthouse at 404 Lighthouse Rd in Elmira and finishes at the Souris Lighthouse on MacPhee Avenue.
The course distance is 29 km. The route includes hilly terrain and requires preparation for rolling elevation. This event is listed as a Points series race.
Proceeds from most races sanctioned by the club go to charities, sporting organizations and other worthwhile causes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
