Pleasant Mount Firecracker 5K
The Pleasant Mount Firecracker 5K is the 14th annual run/walk hosted by Boy Scout Troop 407 as a fundraiser to support scouts attending a six-day summer camp. The camp is described as supporting scouts' physical, social, and mental development, and the fundraiser helps families cover camp costs.
The event takes place on July 4 at the Pleasant Mount Community Center, 377 Great Bend Turnpike, Pleasant Mount, PA. The race is part of the town's Fourth of July celebration and is followed by a parade and additional festivities at the community center.
The course is a 5K (3.1 miles) offered as a run or walk; all participants must complete the course within one hour because the parade follows. Timing is handled by a professional timer, Wolf Creek Race Management, and participants will wear chipped numbers for result timing. Awards are given to first, second, and third place in age categories from 10 and under through 70+, for both male and female divisions, plus overall male and female winners.
Registration details include a tiered fee schedule: $20 until May 30, $25 from May 31 through June 15, and $30 after June 15. Children 10 and under are free and can register online. To be guaranteed a commemorative race T-shirt, registrants must select size by June 20, 2026. Online registration is available through July 3 at 12pm, and day-of-race registration is available.
